Day 1: JOHANNESBURG

Arrive JHB, our representative will meet you at O.R THAMBO International Airport to ensure a smooth path through immigration and customs, transfer to hotel for dinner or lunch (depend on the time of arrival) (If arrive early we could start a tour but if arrive in the evening we will transfer direct to hotel)

Day 2: SITE SEEING JOHANNESBURG CITY TOUR

JOHANNESBURG CITY CENTRE
Johannesburg, known as Joburg or Jozi for short, is the thriving commercial centre of South Africa. Joburg’s inner city went through some years of neglect but in recent years has been spruced up as part of a multimillion rand inner city renewal project. It’s a busy city and if you’re from out of town it may be best to go with a guide. The dramatic new entrance to the city is over the Nelson Mandela Bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge in southern Africa, into the cultural hub of Newtown and the sculptures surrounding Mary Fitzgerald Square. From here make your way to the beautifully street scaped Main Street pedestrian precinct for coffee in an outdoor café. From here, travel west along Market Street and admire the opulent Victorian and Art Deco architecture which reflect the enormous wealth created by Joburg’s gold mines in the early part of last century.

JOHANNESBURG ART GALLERY
The Johannesburg Art Gallery (JAG) is situated in Joubert Park within the Johannesburg transportation hub, and is enriched by its location in this vibrant part of the city. A number of important holdings of international significance are housed at the JAG. The Historical Collection includes 17th century Dutch paintings and Impressionist paintings, original prints and sculptures.
The Brent Hurst and Traditional Collections of objects produced by indigenous cultures of southern Africa include headrests, beadwork and numerous other treasures. There are extensive holdings of South African art from early 20th century paintings, sculptures and prints to state-of-the art digital installations. Modern International works range from Dada to Pop Art. In addition JAG has a robust programmer of exhibitions focusing on major retrospectives, solo exhibitions, exhibitions for emerging artists as well as create group exhibitions.

CONSTITUTION HILL
Constitution Hill is a unique heritage site in the inner city of Johannesburg. It is a campus for human rights, a place where visitors can come to witness and experience democracy at work. A visit to the site includes several attractions, which are all included in the tour price. The Constitutional Court, home of South Africa’s constitution, is one of the most significant pieces of post-apartheid architecture in South Africa. The Court houses a collection of artworks by eminent South Africa artists – over 200 tapestries, engravings, sculptures and paintings – all with a human rights theme. Built in 1893, the Old Fort is one of Johannesburg’s oldest buildings and was used as a fortress by Paul Kruger during the South African War. It has a forbidding entrance tunnel and striking fort architecture. Later the Old Fort was a prison for white male prisoners. Nelson Mandela was the only black prisoner to be held in this “whites only” prison.
The Women’s Jail is a handsome Victorian-style face-brick building, where the likes of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and other political activists as well as the notorious Daisy de Melker were held.

NEWTOWN
Newtown – the creative capital of Johannesburg and South Africa - is a dynamic, vibrant and cosmopolitan cultural quarter. Johannesburg’s energy, innovation and vitality are richly represented in Newtown – a historic area of Johannesburg’s central business district that has long been a magnet for creative and cultural activities. A trip into Newtown offers the visitor a choice of museums, theatres, restaurants, art galleries, dance studios, craft markets, live performances and night spots – the legendary Kip pies; the world renowned Market Theatre; the Dance Factory, housing a dedicated dance centre; Area Books, South Africa's first bookshop focused exclusively on African literature, culture, film, art and music; the numerous international artists who have graced the Baseline ; and not forgetting the unique shopping experience of the Oriental Plaza just around the corner.
Newtown offers Johannesburg’s major museum – Museum Africa, chronicling the history of Johannesburg – as well as Sci-Bono, the largest science centre in Africa full of ‘hands-on’ exhibitions to engage adults and children alike and the recently revamped World of Beer, fun-filled showcase of brewing.

Day 3: SITE SEEING TOUR TO SANTON CITY/NELSON MANDELA SQUARE

SANTON CITY & NELSON MANDELA SQUARE
Situated in the heart of Santon in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Nelson Mandela Square is surrounded by world-class hotels and restaurants. The popular Sandton City Shopping Centre is adjacent to Mandela Square.
The Square made headlines when, commemorating South Africa’s first decade of democracy, a specially donated six meter bronze statue of Nelson Mandela had been unveiled, and the square aptly renamed Nelson Mandela Square at Sandton City. The statue was sculpted by Kobus Hattingh and Jacob Maponyane and weighs over 2.5 tons measuring 2.3 meters from elbow to elbow. The shoulders of the statue are 1.7 meters in width and the shoes are 1 meter in length.

Day 4: SITE SEEING TOUR/SHOPPING TO FESTIVAL MALL/EAST GATE MALL

Day 5: TRIP BACK TO COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

transfer to Johannesburg O.R Tambo International airport trip back to country of origin. (the time will depend on flight time)
